Who is Ragga Lox

Greetings one and all. I hope all is well and you are having a great day. My name is Rohan Robinson, but i am more popularly known as Ragga Lox. I was born in Mandeville Jamaica and having been doing music now for 30 solid years. I started out

in a Reggae band back in the 90’s and now four albums later i am still pursuing my dreams.

After a successful performance at my high school back in Jamaica in back in the late 80’s, i knew it was music all the way for me, however it was shortly thereafter that my entire family migrated to the United States.

Upon landing in America, i quickly realize there was very little opportunity for American base Reggae artist. The industry for American base Reggae talent has been underground, and continues to be a underground market. Jamaican base artist dominates the market and cast a shadow on the large group of talented artist living in America, and so industry affiliates will mostly work with artist from Jamaica, as it is usually makes or financial sense. This still does not explain the success of Shaggy, Kraniun, Shinehead and a few others.

Seeing this trend, labels have their pick of new and upcoming acts from Jamaica, which is endless, as Jamaica breaks new talent and new songs daily, I stared my own label, Rtist4Rtist Ent.

I would take recordings from producers who showed no interest, and compile them on CD’s with other songs poorly recorded independently, and sell them in the streets of NY. This led to more properly produce Cd’s and recordings which led more exposure. This strategy worked well until the digital age entered, and its been a slow long transition since then. This company handles productions, promotions, website management, bookings and more. To date the company has produced four studio albums for Ragga lox, : #1 MUSIC IS MY LIFE, #2 STEPPA INNA BABYLON, # 3 RASTALOGY, and #4 CLIMBING. Rtist4Rtist has also promoted and booked a number of shows, for me, including performances in Africa, Jamaica, Trinidad and more.
